I worked so hard to learn how to draw these characters properly, only to mash their faces like putty until they're barely recognizable.
If you're as avid a Punch Out!! fan as me, you might fan the last two games aren't as hard as you remember. I can breeze through the first two circuits and not get into any real challenge until half way through world. The same applies to the new Wii title, but it is slightly easier for two reasons.
The more advanced animation and inclusion of voice clips makes the attack cues easier to read. I used to get killed by Super Macho Man and his spinning hook (I don't think that's the right name for it.) because I couldn't tell if he was going to swing three or four times. So I would duck three times and get knocked out by that one more punch. Now I know to keep ducking until I hear him yell "bogus" (I'm from Southern California and I approve of this stereotype.) and start pounding his giant chin in.
You no longer get sent back to the beginning of the circuit after losing too many times, If you're stuck on one boxer, you can just keep rematching him until you win. You can even turn off the game and come back later to pick u at the last opponent you lost to.
Of coarse, the tradition of the final opponent repeatedly beating you until you cry still holds out.
damn. eeehh...
i'm kinda of glad i never got to him now.. ironicly... :S
On my third try against sandman,I somehow beat him to a pulp in round 1
Can't say the same for title defense (stupid piston hondo and his delayed hooks)
Right overhead: "Stand STILL!" Delayed
Left overhead: Quick
Right smash: quick
Left smash (Night night!) delayed.
(HIS left/right, of course)
I swear to god if I hear that again I'm punching my Wii.
Oh Lord, I fear the day I stumble TD Bald Bull, let alone Mr. Sandman...
